Join us for the WORLD PREMIERE of AURICULA MERETRICULA... MUSICULA!  at our 20th Anniversary Celebration Weekend's gala dinner on Saturday night!  By kind permission of Hackett Publishing and with the blessing of the play's two authors, Ruby Blondell and Ann Cumming, we've given everyone's favorite skit from Rusticatio Tironum the Broadway treatment: original music by SALVI's own Joel Derfner of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and Latin lyrics by Nancy "Annula" Llewellyn!

Performance will be held on the night of Saturday, July 15, 2017, as part of our 20th Anniversary Celebration Weekend July 14-16, 2017 at SALVI's seasonal home, the historic Claymont Estate near Washington DC.  We are delighted to announce here the release of the preliminary program (Latine/English) for the Weekend.   Register now on the SALVI website and secure your place for this epic two-day party! Reconnect with old friends and reprise the fun of your first Rusticatio with the singing, games, and good fellowship you remember, plus some TOTALLY NEW features for this weekend only.

Activities at the party weekend are always optional and focused on fun, though you will, as ever, get plenty of new Latin in the doing of them.   Learn to make (and light up!) the classic flambe dessert Bananas Foster with the flair of a professional chef, create your own "medieval manuscript," even play Dungeons and Dragons in Latin!

Our Celebration Weekend is also unique in that it's intentionally family-friendly and bilingual. Bring your spouse/significant other, family member, friend or child along; it's the perfect opportunity to share Claymont with people close to you who don't speak Latin but are curious to see where you spend a week each summer. Special event sessions for English-speakers included!

Make your voice heard and give others the benefit of your experience in small-group roundtable discussions in Latin or English (your choice) on the general topic of SALVI's Next Twenty Years. We've got plenty of ideas of our own to share, but we want to hear from you, too. What would you like to see happen next in the world of spoken Latin?
