Rusticatio Paedagogica: Nunc Est Scribendum (Stylo Libero)!
This program has been canceled. Please consider registering for our newly added session of Rusticatio Omnibus, July 11-17.
Join us for SALVI’s inaugural writer’s workshop, dedicated to content creation in Latin across various media.
Comprehensible and compelling input is the most effective method of enhancing language skills. Learners require abundant amounts of this input to develop inside and outside of classrooms. While the modern Latin community has begun creating podcasts, YouTube videos, and novellas, there remains a high demand for appropriately-leveled, compelling materials. This workshop focuses on the creation of high-quality, accessible, and creative content to enrich the Latin learning experience for our students, our peers, and ourselves.
This two-tiered program will feature morning sessions addressing writing skills, novella-building, and the production of visual and audio media for various proficiency levels and genres. In the afternoons, small group sessions will delve into specific topics such as: integrating podcasts, novellas, and videos into classrooms; developing materials for curricula; utilizing ancillary materials in content creation; and mastering the technical aspects of media publishing.
Participants will leave with a product they have personally created. Initium est dimidium facti, and we extend an invitation for you to commence your journey with us this summer.
This workshop is ideal for Latin enthusiasts of all proficiency levels and professions, expanding beyond classroom teachers. It welcomes those embarking on their journey as content creators and writers, as well as those seeking to further explore and refine their skills.
